Born in the State of Chihuahua, México, in 1947. He studied with the distinguished Argentine teacher and performer, Manuel López Ramos in the “Estudio de Arte Guitarristico” in Mexico City; and pursued his musical studies with teachers Pedro Michaca and Humberto Hernández Medrano, and at present he is taking a course in composition with the latter.

He was won prizes in the most important international competitions of the day – such as the “O.R.T.F.” (Office of the Radio-Television Française), “Prix D’Interpretation in Paris”; the Central University of Venezuela, “prizes Alirio Díaz, Raúl Borges and Leoncio Porras” in Caracas, Venezuela; “Gian Battista Viotti” Third prize, in Vercelli, Italy; “Citta de Alessandria”. Third prize in Alessandria, Italy; and in Mexico his achievements have been recognized by the “Mexican Union of Theatre and Music Critics”, from whom he received twice their highest annual award: 1970 and again in 1973. He is the youngest musician and the only guitarrist to have received this award twice.

He has performed in the major cities of France, England, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Yugoslavia, United States of America, Guatemala, Venezuela and Brazil as well as in radio and television in said countries. He is the exclusive artist for the international EMI-Capitol recording company and has recorded three discs for the “Angel” label. He has performed as soloist with several major Mexican orchestras.

In 1974, he made his fourth concert tour of Europe. He played in several halls of international fame, such as the “Mozartsalle” in Viena; “Leone Magno” of Rome; “Concertgebow” in Amsterdam; “Mozarteus” in Salzburg; “Purcell Room” in London and “Bundensalle” in Berlin.

In 1976 he made his debut in Carnegie Hall in New York, with great success, promoted by Dolores Carrillo Flores and the Foreign Relations Department of the Mexican Government, as well as a concert tour in the area of that City. He also made a tour in the State of Virginia, having obtained such a great success that he was request to make a special presentation at the “Virginia Museum” in the City of Richmond, Virginia.

Regarding his pedagogical activities, he has been teaching at the “Escuela Superior de Música” at Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes INBA at Mexico City since 19__. He also did and important work at the “Estudio de Arte Guitarrístico” of Mexico City, as well as in sundry proficiency courses at international level, being the most important ones: “Jeunesses Musicales” of Yugoslavia and Highlands University in New Mexico, United States of America.
